If InScribe needs to be re-installed or personal files need to be backed up, please follow appropriate steps below to Backup and / or Restore Personal Files:
- Log into Inscribe
- Go to File
- Select Options
- Click on the Advanced menu
- Locate the Data section
Click on the 'Backup and Restore Personal Files' button.
To Backup the Personal Files
1. Choose 'Backup to Location' to backup files (***Please Note: This is especially helpful if the transcriptionist wants to periodically backup the files to a flash drive)
2. Choose the appropriate location in the 'Save As' popup menu
3. Chose an appropriate file name
4. Click 'Save' button
5. Choose 'Close' on the Personal Files box (***Please Note: The status of the backup file will be displayed at the bottom of the 'Options' menu: It will say Personal Files Updated when it has finished backing up)
6. Once it displays this message, click 'OK' to close the box and return to Inscribe
To Restore The Personal Files
1. Choose 'Restore from Location' to restore files
2. Choose 'Yes' from the 'Restore' popup menu to replace current autotext and dictionaries with files from the backup file
3. Navigate to and choose the 'saved backup file' from the popup prompt and click 'Open'
4. Click 'Close' on the 'Personal Files' menu (***Please Note: The status of the restored file will be displayed at the bottom of the 'Options' menu: It will say Personal Files Updated when it has finished restoring)
5. Once it displays this message, click 'OK' to close the box and return to Inscribe
