QUESTION:

Adjusting Proxy Rights To See Documents From Other Dictators

When a user cannot see another user's documents, they may not have proxy rights to see that other user's work.

The second common cause is missing access to the location the document is assigned.
That scenario is covered here: Adjusting Location Access Rights for Users that Cannot See Documents.

To adjust proxy rights, so that an InQuiry user can see another InQuiry user's documents.
1. Under the "Client Maintenance" tab, select "Maintenance" menu then select "Users" from the list.

2. Find the user that needs to see a dictator's documents, and select that user's name.  Then click the link "Proxy rights for [username]."

3. This will display the Proxy Rights. It shows who's documents that person can view, edit, or complete.

  • The column "Proxy Rights" grants a user the ability to SEE, but not edit, another dictators documents.  All other privileges are dependent upon the Proxy Rights setting, and will not function unless the result of this setting is turned on.
  • The column "Edit" allows a user to edit another dictators documents.  A user with this privilege can edit both the demographics and the body of the document.
  • The column "Edit Header Only" is used for staff members that need to edit demographic information attached to the document, but who should not edit the document body.
  • The column "Complete" will allow this user to complete or sign documents in the Preliminary Folder, where the physician would normally apply his Electronic Signature.  Users with the "Complete" privilege can complete documents form the Preliminary folder, but they still CANNOT apply another physicians Electronic Signature.

Proxy rights can be inherited from a group the user is a member of but those group rights can be overridden by the user setting.
When there is a green check mark under the group column, but a red X in the Result and User column, then the right given by the group has been overridden, and the user cannot see the other user's documents.

For an example: Test User has proxy rights enabled for Test Doc and can edit and complete Test Doc documents.
However, Test User does not have proxy rights enabled for Test Doc1.

Once the proxy rights have been adjusted, click Save.

*IMPORTANT: The user will need to log out of InQuiry and back in again for changes to take effect.
