Loud Beep Sound In InScribe


This article will discuss how to disable some Windows alert sounds that could play when in InScribe. This will help if the alert sounds play at a very loud volume compared to the clinician's dictation when searching for patients, running spellcheck or completing a transcription.

1. Right click the volume icon next to the clock and select Sounds: 

2. Scroll through the list of Program Events and select "Default Beep"

3. In the Sounds pull down menu, select (None) at the top of the list:

4. Scroll through the list of Program Events and select "Exclamation":

5. In the Sounds pull down menu, select (None) at the top of the list: 

6. Push the OK button: 

Now, when InScribe would normally play one of these event sounds, no sound will play.
