Are Bluetooth devices compatible with the eScription One Mobile App?
ANSWER:
Bluetooth Support for eScription One Dictation
Bluetooth is not officially supported for dictating with eScription One Mobile. It is not part of our development or testing process.
Bluetooth may work with mobile device but there are several issues that cause us not to recommend it:
- Setting up a Bluetooth connection proves to be too technical for some users.
- There is a tendency for the device to pair using the wrong profile, i.e. it sees the headphones, but doesn't see that the Bluetooth device also has a microphone. This will result in unusable audio. This is even more problematic because the user thinks its working because she can hear audio through the headset.
- The Bluetooth device may not be able to reliably maintain a pairing throughout the entire dictation.
If a user would like to try Bluetooth, then we do recommend extensive testing with the specific device before performing a real dictation. We also suggest adjusting Silence Detection to its most restrictive setting.
Please find more information about silence detection within the manual for the application.
